GROW is a network of environmental educators and energy specialists based in Co. Kildare. GROW specialises in setting up organic school garden projects, teaching organic horticulture and gardening, setting up 'grow your own' plots in peoples gardens and developing community gardens in various settings. GROW also works in natural and recycled art.

EDIBLE Exhibition launches at The Science Gallery

Edible launched successfully on Thursday night in The Science Gallery, read a bit about it here! Good spud conversations and eating of mealy bugs were had!

Meet GROW...Lucy Bell

Lucy Bell is an organic horticulturalist and community artist from Kildare. Lucy is co-author of 'The Year Round Organic School Garden' with Kerry Earth Education Project and irish Seedsavers, which specialises in aiding schools set up organic school gardens. Lucy is a heritage specialist for the 'heritage in Schools' scheme, and has been setting up organic school gardens for over 5 years now with KEEP in Kerry and with GROW in Kildare. Lucy is also a facilitator with Sustianable Energy Authority of Ireland, facilitating priimary and secondary school education workshops based on climate change and energy efficiency .

Meet GROW...Pat Bell

Pat Bell is a mechanical engineer with over 30 years experience in sustainable energy. As a founder director of ENTRAC (1996-2009) he worked mainly for the European Commission on sustainable transport projects. While in the Irish Energy Centre he pioneered the introduction of energy issues into Irish schools. He is currently striving to achieve zero carbon status for his house which has one of the few grid connected photovoltaic (PV) systems in the country (see posts of July 16, 2012 and March 27, 2012 respectively).

He is an active member of Birdwatch Ireland, Bat Conservation Ireland and Butterfly Conservation Ireland (see post of March 4, 2012) in addition to working on his award winning biodiversity suburban garden.
